Detection of toxic algae and toxins in water supplies

Left Column:

Certain algae are capable of producing toxins that can kills fish and affect human health. Surveys of lakes and canals have been performed to check for the presence of potential toxic algae.

LARB has focused on using both microscopic and molecular fingerprinting techniques to detect toxic algae that produce and release toxic compounds into water supplies.
